Site Champions play a significant role in the success of Equiscript home delivery pharmacy programs across the country. They serve as the primary point of contact between the Equiscript team, providers, and patients. Site Champions are super-organized, super-involved superstars who carry out the tasks necessary to make a successful pharmacy program.
AltaMed started as a free clinic over fifty years ago in the East Los Angeles area. Now, with thirty-five sites, they serve more than 300,000 people in Southern California.
Sassan Nedjati, a pharmacist at AltaMed's Prescription Renewal Center, said that his favorite part of his job is being part of a clinical team. As an Equiscript Site Champion, he likes being able to help make medication more accessible and affordable for AltaMed patients.
Sassan recommends that other Equiscript Site Champions "use the advantage of home delivery for patients, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic." He also said that the program can benefit both patients and providers by having all of the prescriptions go through one pharmacy, helping to prevent a multi-pharmacy problem.
