Equiscript's Community Mission

Expanding our Cause to Improve Access to Healthcare

In 2017, the Equiscript team made a commitment to further extend our Cause to extend access to healthcare in the communities we serve by partnering with OneWorld Health. Through this partnership we are working to support the establishment of community health centers that provide sustainable healthcare in Uganda and Nicaragua.

As a part of our commitment to community health, we supported nine clients and one staff member on a mission trip to Nicaragua in December 2017. This brief video shows the results of taking a team of committed community health workers on a trip together. What an amazing way to spend time with our clients!

We were able to support this trip and help these communities (some of the poorest in the western hemisphere) through the hard work and dedication of our clients and our devoted staff here at Equiscript. We are so blessed to have such an amazing team of clients, colleagues, and employees.

2019 TRIP UPDATE: In May 2019, Equiscript will support a OneWorld Health trip to Costa Rica to serve our Nicaraguan friends who are currently displaced there.  For more information on the trip, visit www.equiscript.com/owh.

Equiscript + OneWorld Health

The story. In 2016 Equiscript owners Mike Burkhold and Steven Kerr were asked to donate a mobile ultrasound machine to be used in a new OneWorld Health mobile clinic in Tola, Nicaragua. They were happy to provide the support, and their lives changed when they saw a video of an expectant mother who saw her child for the first time using that machine.  This was the beginning of Equiscript's work with OneWorld Health.   OWH_NIC_D2_1062.jpg

The Equiscript team is devoted to our company's Cause, which is to improve access to healthcare to the communities we serve. Every day we work hard to provide the best care to the patients of our clients at community health centers and hospitals across the United States.

While we serve many areas of the U.S. that have a need for medical resources, we also realize that we have a unique opportunity to connect ourselves, our clients, and OneWorld Health to improve access to healthcare in other parts of the world, too.

We are looking forward to our continued partnership with OneWorld Health and continuing to work hard to improve access to healthcare in the communities that we serve every day.

Nicaragua 2017

Our first partnered mission trip was in December of 2017 to Tola, Nicaragua. We supported nine clients and one Equiscript employee to go on a one week mission trip to support OneWorld Health's new Tola community clinic.

During the week, the team held outreach clinics at churches in communities around Tola. Each day the team had the goal of helping people they saw and then referring them back to the nearby Tola Clinic where they can receive long-term quality healthcare.

Future Involvement

Equiscript has a long-term commitment to OneWorld Health and its efforts in building sustainable healthcare in Nicaragua and Uganda.  Our next trip will be to Costa Rica in May 2019.  We look forward to again including a team of healthcare providers from our clients.  Please stay tuned to our Blog or visit www.equiscript.com/OWH for more details!

Working Together to Make a Difference

Connecting with Each Other and Our Community

One thing you can definitely say about Equiscript employees is that we are fun. We are also competitive, and we are committed to working in teams to add value to our patients, clients, co-workers, and neighbors.

"I feel as if it filled one of those small voids in my heart. It's almost an addictive feeling when you're on the mission because what you get is unconditional, and powerful."

"We put together hygiene kits, helped paint their facility, and did some landscaping. We are proud to be involved with an organization like Water Mission because although our business models are a little bit different, our purposes align with each other."
