Site Champions play a significant role in the success of Equiscript home delivery pharmacy programs across the country. They serve as the primary point of contact between the Equiscript team, providers, and patients. Site Champions are super-organized, super-involved superstars who carry out the tasks necessary to make a successful pharmacy program.
Heart of Ohio Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with two health centers serving patients in the Greater Columbus metropolitan area. Heart of Ohio Family Health has always served high-risk and underserved populations with more than a quarter of their patients identifying as non-English speaking, more than half are African/African American, approximately 15% are Hispanic/Latino, and about one-third of their patients are uninsured.
Clinton Scott has been part of the Heart of Ohio Family Health team for five months. In his position as a 340B Clerk, he says he loves “helping patients save money as well as helping the organization gain revenue” through their 340B program.
“Understanding the importance of the medication regime, language, and transportation seem to be the top three barriers to care,” according to Clinton. With the Equiscript Home Delivery Pharmacy Program, he says, “I feel it helps with the patients’ understanding of their medications and gives them an added layer of someone advocating for their needs.”
Equiscript Client Relationship Manager, Juli Kernodle, and Prescription Service Administrator, Kendall Parker, nominated Clinton for the Site Champ Spotlight Award. Kendall said, “Clinton is constantly seeking out a course of action on how he can help patients smoothly transition to the home delivery program. He is an outstanding partner of Equiscript, and we are thankful for all that he continues to do for the patients we serve.”
Site Champions help to ensure that patients get the best quality service, and that they get their medications when they need them - which keeps patients happier, healthier, and more compliant with their healthcare. Thank you, Clinton, for being a top-notch Site Champion!
