Please join us in celebrating Jaime Anaya, Clinical Pharmacist at Centro San Vicente in El Paso, TX. Jaime is Equiscript's Site Champion Spotlight for July!

Site Champions play a significant role in the success of Equiscript home delivery pharmacy programs across the country. They serve as the primary point of contact between the Equiscript team, providers, and patients. Site Champions are super-organized, super-involved superstars who carry out the tasks necessary to make a successful pharmacy program.

Founded in 1988, Centro San Vicente (CSV) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with three health centers serving the El Paso community. They are also an affiliate member of Ascension Health. CSV's mission is to provide holistic healthcare and improve access to care for their uninsured and underinsured population.

Jaime has worked with CSV for nearly four years and truly loves the community and patients he works with. He said, “I love the patient population I serve...I’ve spent most of my career working with indigent and underinsured populations, and Centro San Vicente is a great place to continue that career work. I enjoy interacting with and helping patients directly. I work under a Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreement (CDTA) also known as ‘protocols’. The CDTA allows me to function as a provider and see patients to help manage their chronic medical conditions. I also love to serve as a liaison between the providers/medical staff and the pharmacy staff.”

Equiscript’s mission, like CSV’s, is to improve access to care. During this last year, our partnership with CSV was able to do just that. Jaime said, “Many of our patients are elderly so home delivery is a very valuable option to them. This was even more evident over the last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and may even have kept many patients safe in terms of risk of exposure to the virus.”

The role of an Equiscript Site Champion is crucial to the health of the program and requires someone like Jaime, who is dedicated to his team and the patients he serves. “Being a site champion allows me to assure patients get their meds on time, as needed, and as appropriate. It also allows me to help our very busy medical staff with their patients,” said Jaime.

Site Champions help to ensure that patients get the best quality service and that they get their medications when they need them - which keeps patients happier, healthier, and more compliant with their healthcare. Thank you, Jaime, for being a top-notch Site Champion!
