Please join us in celebrating Teresa Tuttle, Continuous Quality Care Coordinator at Valley View Health Centers in Waverly, OH. Teresa is Equiscript's Site Champion Spotlight for September!
Site Champions play a significant role in the success of Equiscript home delivery pharmacy programs across the country. They serve as the primary point of contact between the Equiscript team, providers, and patients. Site Champions are super-organized, super-involved superstars who carry out the tasks necessary to make a successful pharmacy program.
Valley View Health Centers (VVHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been serving Southern Ohio for more than thirty years. With seven locations in the Southern Ohio region, they offer a range of services, including family medicine, dental, vision, medication assisted treatment, women's health and prenatal, and behavioral health.
We were able to ask Teresa some questions about her role and experience as an Equsicript Site Champion. Take a look at what she had to say!
What do you love about your job?
I love the difference made in the lives of our patients having access to and utilizing the services offered by our health centers - medical, dental, mental health, and MAT/SUD - along with the other services offered as part of Community Action.
What do you like about being the Site Champion for your health center’s home delivery pharmacy program?
Our patients can have their prescriptions delivered to them and receive the savings provided by the 340B program.
How has your experience working with Equiscript been so far?
Everyone at Equiscript is very friendly, helpful, and happy to be of assistance when I first started as Site Champion, and continue to be there for any questions or concerns I have.
What advice do you have for other Site Champs?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions – the staff at Equiscript will be your greatest resource.
How valuable is the home delivery pharmacy program to your patients?
As transportation is an issue for many of our patients, home delivery is very valuable.
What is the main barrier to accessing healthcare that your patients experience?
Our health centers serve a primarily rural, low-income population and transportation, as stated previously, is a huge barrier for our patients.
Would you recommend our program to other organizations like yours? Why?
I would absolutely recommend this program. The ease with which our patients can receive their prescriptions and the peace of mind they can have knowing their medications will be arriving at their homes is such a wonderful benefit.
Site Champions help to ensure that patients get the best quality service and that they get their medications when they need them - which keeps patients happier, healthier, and more compliant with their healthcare. Thank you, Teresa, for being a top-notch Site Champion!
